SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Diagnostic Test

BOOK a quick antigen test now SARS-CoV-2

What is the rapid diagnostic test and what is it for?
It is a nasopharyngeal swab useful for detecting the presence of viral proteins (antigens).

Does this let you know if you are currently positive for the virus or not?
Yes, there is a high probability of detecting this positivity as the tests used have a sensitivity of more than 80% and a specificity of 95%. The positivity of the rapid antigen swab must then be confirmed by the molecular test that will be performed at our office and analyzed by the territorially competent public structure.

How long does it take to know the results of the quick antigenic test?

The report is sent directly via email within 2 hours.

Do I need a medical prescription to carry out the rapid antigenic test?
No.

Can I swab if I have flu-like symptoms?
Yes. It is possible to swab even if you have flu-like symptoms.
The path created specifically outside the clinic (in the parking lot of the same), allows you to access the rooms set up for examinations in maximum safety for yourself and for others.

SARS-CoV-2 Molecular Test (PCR)

BOOK a SARS-CoV-2 Molecular Test (PCR)

What is the SARS CoV-2 molecular test (PCR) and what is it for?
It is a nasopharyngeal swab useful for detecting the presence of the SARS CoV-2 genome. Molecular testing represents the international gold standard for the diagnosis of COVID-19 in terms of sensitivity and specificity. The real-time RT-PCR (Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction) method allows, through the amplification of the most expressed viral genes, to detect the presence of the viral genome as well as in symptomatic subjects even in the presence of low viral load, pre-symptomatic or asymptomatic.

How long does it take to know the test result?
The report is sent directly via email within 48-72 hours.

Do I need a prescription for the test?
No.

Can I get tested if I have flu-like symptoms?
Yes. It is possible to carry out the test even if in the presence of flu-like symptoms.
The path created specifically outside the clinic (in the parking lot of the same), allows you to access the rooms set up for examinations in maximum safety for yourself and for others.

Serological test with the E.L.I.S.A. method

Do I need a medical prescription to carry out the serological test?
No.

Is it necessary to book the serological test?

No reservation is required to carry out the serological test, just go to the clinical laboratory during the opening hours:
From Monday to Friday from 08.00 AM to 08.00 PM;
On Saturday from 08.00 AM to 02.00 PM.

How can I pay?
Payment is made directly at the cash desk after receiving the test result. Please note that only the payment made by credit card or debit card allows the subsequent tax deduction of the medical expenses incurred.

How long does it take for serological test results to be available?
For tests carried out before 13.00, the results are available on the same day;
For tests carried out after 1.00 pm the results will be available by 1.00 pm the following day.
To avoid returning to get the results, the same will be sent by email.

What is the serological test with the E.L.I.S.A. method?
It is a test that is carried out through a blood sample.

What is the serological test used for?
It is useful for the detection of IgG and IGM antibodies of the Sars-Cov-2 virus in the blood.

What does it mean?
It lets you know if you have come into contact with the virus.

Does this let you know if you are currently positive for the virus or not?
No. Positivity can only be ascertained through antigen research and / or molecular tests.

It is reliable?
The technology used allows high levels of sensitivity and specificity. This is the E.L.F.A. (Enzyme Linked Fluorescent Assay) which associates the E.L.I.S.A. (Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay) to a final fluorescence reading.

Is there a need for preparation in order to carry out the serological test?
No.

Can I get a serological test if I have flu-like symptoms?
The test can be performed but the negativity does not exclude the presence of the virus. It is therefore recommended that in the presence of flu-like symptoms to carry out an antigen search and / or molecular test.

In which cases should the serological test be preferred?
For epidemiological investigations, to find out if you have come into contact with the virus as it has a late positivity and is therefore not suitable for detecting an infection in progress. It is advisable to speak with your referring physician for the choice of tests to be performed.
